EV Tarifs and Solar Panels

Hi,

I have recently switched to an EV tariff for electricity via British Gas. The EV tariff gives a cheaper rate between midnight and 5 am. My smart meter and the physical meter only display one number for units used so there is no way of knowing what I have used in the cheaper night time tariff. Does anyone know how to get both day and night readings? There is no button on the meter to show a second reading like there was on my mother’s economy 7 meter. 
 

Secondly, I have also just had solar panels installed, does anyone know how you apply to get the payments for sending excess power back to the grid?

Have a read here regarding the SEG scheme (which replaced the feed-in tariff in 2019)

Regarding the smart meter, I have no idea, wouldn't entertain one myself. I use the energy monitoring software app that comes with my PV Battery storage system.

Sounds like you need a smart charger compatible with your provider, the app with it would do all that for you.
