New owner Lexus RZ450E Takumi Bi-tone

Recommended Posts

Good evening all,

I’m a new owner having taken delivery of my car on Monday. This is a replacement for an Infiniti QX70 Premium S with the 3.0 diesel V6. I have had the Infiniti 7 years and has been a fantastically reliable car and a great ownership experience. It still turns heads but I am afraid the hatred for diesels and ULEZ zone in Glasgow made the change necessary.

Very impressed with the car so far, however somewhat disappointed to see that it has not had the software update which shows the Battery level in % term.

Also, whilst doing a deep clean to the car today prior to applying a ceramic coating to the exterior, I think there may be some parts of trim missing in both front doors. Where the metal retainer for the door is, there is no rubber grommet in either door, which means there is around an inch gap in each door where water ingress could happen.

Would someone mind checking their car too prior to me contacting my local dealership.

 Thanks, in anticipation,

Paul

Just looked at mine and it is the same as yours. Can't say that I have ever noticed and having had the car for almost a year can't say it has caused any problems.  I will though mention it to the stealer next time I go in.

Thanks for checking John and Bob, that’s reassuring although I will mention it to the Dealer anyway when I ask them to do the software update. Hopefully, my local Dealer won’t charge me for the update as I would have thought it should have been done by the Dealer in Liverpool prior to delivery.

I will update the thread when I have the outcome and thanks again…😉

Your dealer definitely shouldn’t charge for the update - in essence it rectifies a major issue with the car ! Good luck getting it sorted - summer is coming and so the increased range whilst having the a/c is very welcome.

Had my car in at the Glasgow Dealership last week, the software update with the Battery % being displayed is no longer available. No reason was given, but they did advise me that my car had the latest software available.

Have to say I can't see how your car has the latest software available if it isn't showing the % charge. They must have changed back to the previous software version for some reason. Mine is still going well since the update. I would ask the dealer to clarify.

Paulog13 - as you have a Takumi you will have a HUD. Months ago they stopped updating cars with a HUD as they must have tinkered with the update it was bricking the HUD which meant a removal of the dash and doubtless issues with that. I suggest you contact Customer Service and ask when the update will be available.

John and I were some of the earliest owners to get the update luckily before they ruined it.
