How are owners finding front passenger seat comfort? Initial short test drive in Premium Plus my wife complained the Seat squab was too short to support her legs adequately.
Thinking we need a longer drive when she could experiment with various Seat positions but would welcome existing owners who will have driven for longer what they, and their passengers, thoughts are on passenger seat comfort.

If you are on FB, there are Lexus LBX pages with a lot more people who already have the cars and maybe able to comment,

After a weekend test drive in Germany, I can confirm your observations, @Expatma. My wife doesn't like the passenger seat at all for the same reason you mentioned. I couldn't reproduce it exactly when I was riding shotgun. However, I found the passenger seat to be not as comfortable as the driver's seat for some strange reason I can't really describe. It almost feels like there is no support at all on the sides of my lower back.

I'm curious to hear more thoughts on this.

That's exactly what my wife said along with poor support for her legs. I also found the drivers seat okay but of course the driver sits differently because of pedal position etc.

Interesting I find the passenger seat comfortable……so much so I have fallen asleep on a couple of short journeys.

My wife the drivers tells me she particularly likes the drivers overall position……

Not been on a longer journey…..yet.

Going to take a 2 hour test drive to determine once and for all whether the passenger seat can be adjusted so as to be comfortable for my wife. if it can then likely we will buy, if not then back to the research for alternatives!

Well we took a 2 hour test drive and I have to say the LBX is a lovely car to be in and drive, smooth, quiet, responsive and very refined.  But - had to be a but - my wife could not get comfortable in the passenger seat. Tried it every way and found it was most comfortable at its lowest setting, but then too low to see anything! After much scrabbling about we found that as the seat is raised the rear of the seat rises more than the front so it begins to "slope” downwards from back to front, you then lose support along your thighs and behind the knees. Couldn’t find anyway to adjust the tilt of the seat to compensate. The test car was a Takumi trim with an electric drivers seat and on that as well as raising the seat you can also tilt the squab to maintain support behind the knees. Great for the driver but not available for the passenger. So sadly we are reconsidering our options, booked a test drive in the new Mini Countryman so will see how we get on in that. Incidentally how they can call the new Countryman a Mini escapes me! It is longer than a Qashquai which is hardly mini’ish.

Probably end up just keeping my Skoda Yeti as this rate!!

Interesting to read differing views on the front seats, whether driver or passenger.  Collected our (my wife's, actually) new LBX yesterday Takumi in pearlescent white with saddle tan interior.  We were both surprised with the position of the head restraints, which are both quite bulky and fixed in an awkward, tilted forward position.  They do not seem to be adjustable other than up or down. The only option is to recline the seats sufficiently to allow our heads to be in a 'normal' upright position.  Anyone else noticed this?

I currently own a Toyota Yaris Cross after 25+ years with the VX/Audi brand.  The Cross is a fantastic car apart from - the drivers seat.  There is a distinct lack of lateral support on the left side cushion of the seat due to the width only being 5 inches, whilst the right cushion measures 6 inches.  This is causing me to lean to the left when I make a left hand turn.  Currently looking for some sort of aftermarket backrest to try and solve the problem but I may look at the Lexus LBX in 6 months time.  I know there are some similarities between the Cross and the LBX  and it would be helpful if anyone could  give some feedback on the Lexus seats and if the drivers seat in particular has the odd dimensions of the Cross.

Very strange that this has not be recognised.

I have a premium plus lbx and have been on a long journey, after 2 hours it was very uncomfortable by 3 hours it was unbearable, I had to move from the front passenger to the rear seat for relief. Part of the issue is your knees end up being higher than your bum with no support under your thighs. If you set the seat at its furthest position back it improves.

I am considering putting risers/blocks under the seat rails to raise the seat.

I sent an email to the head of Lexus UK on the Monday just gone complaining about this issue but have heard nothing since.

Exactly the problem we found with the LBX, passenger seat squab angle is all wrong, particularly as you raise the seat. No support under thighs or back of knees. Although we liked everything else about the car we eventually walked away because of this. Now ordered a new Mini Countryman on which the passenger seats is much more comfortable with ample support for thighs and behind knees.

Such a pity because all Lexus need to have done is include a squab tilt feature on the passenger seat adjustment.

I can see it been an issue with people over 6ft, but I’m just under. I tried sitting in mine after reading this but had no issues - but was there only a couple of minutes. I think on the top spec it should be an electric seat (and manual in the lower ones) as there’s a seat base angle adjuster which makes all the difference in comfort for me.

Exactly, fine for the driver but not available for passenger seat. As I said previously all it needs is a seat squab angle adjustment to solve the problem.
