Hello. I am new to this forum, so I hope this is the correct forum etc!

Does anyone know if the RX500h supports Android Auto. I have read this, however I do not have the Android button!

The RX500h should support Android Auto - however, at this time, it’s not wireless and you need to connect via a usb cable. Note that only one of your usb sockets in the car connects data to your screen (the rest are for charging only), so you also need to ensure the right cable is connected to the right usb port.

Just one USB (USB-A) port supports Android Auto connection. The rest 3x USB-C don't support connection for AA

My understanding is that both the USB sockets inside the charging cubbyhole should work for AA. I’ve attached a couple of extracts from the manual that may help.

Any idea why Android Auto is wireless in the US, but wired in the UK?

Getting today a major update for Multimedia system (at Lexus service center). I'll let you know if this changes anything about wireless AA.

I was advised by dealer that that MY24 cars now have wireless AA.

Ignore what I said previously Wireless Android auto is not available.  Having picked up my new RX car after being told it was it isn’t.  The Salesman is no longer working for the dealership which may explain why

No change on my end too.
The Major update to Multimedia did not add Android Auto wireless.

I don't think that a software update would be able to change wired AA to wireless.....there would need to be additional hardware added as well (a sort of internal AA dongle, if you will).....Lexus aren't going to do that......

I have an ottocast and it works seamlessly and can be tucked away out of sight ( https://www.ottocast.com/) I think this sort of solution is the best you can hope for...

The wireless hardware is already there as it supports wireless CarPlay. It’s just a matter of a software update, if Lexus choose to do so.

I would personally wait for the AAWireless Two dongle to be available in the UK

I would agree with @Tickedon

Gen 2 NXs in North America (and other territories I believe) offer wireless Android Auto so the hardware is already in place. Whether it will ever be enabled by a software update here in the UK remains to be seen.

I still disagree....the hardware is in place in those vehicles in North America for example.....but not in the Gen 2 models here, otherwise Lexus would have released a software update. I had a long chat with one of my local Lexus dealer employees about this very subject in August of this year, so I'm passing their knowledge on.
