Just wondering...

Has anyone managed to get cheaper insurance due to 

1) The lexus app being able to track the vehicle location

2) Use of a steering wheel lock

No, the insurance companies just want to cheat and rob you.  It's obvious innit?

Plus the Government now receive 20% IPT on the cost ( VAT by any other name) which was gradually increased to this amount over the years!

No & no. The app doesn’t meet the requirements of a tracker for insurance purposes - it can be disabled easily if someone gets into your vehicle. Many insurers don’t even reduce premiums for thatcham rated trackers. 

use of a steering lock is sometimes a condition of insurance, rather than a way to reduce premium.

Dash Cam seemed to make a difference to my premium with LV. Can't tell you exactly how much. The one I put in was £40 and works a treat.

It was the dashcam that got me thinking, as insurers now ask if you have a dashcam installed (which I do - its saved me twice now)

I was with them and they refused to insure my lexus regardless of cameras and trackers. Good news with the dashcam, they can only rob you of £400 extra instead of £450.😔

It can but it can hang you too.   If you drop even a slightly questionable clanger, they’ll want to see it!
