Problem with VSC light

The 'Check VSC' warning accompanied by the dash light has yet again appeared on my 2015 GS300.

This has been happening intermittently for the last couple of years or so.

It comes on then usually disappears again within a few hundred miles, and does not appear again for a few months (sometimes longer).

As I understand it this is a MOT fail (if the warning is apparentat test time).

Anyone else experienced this issue, or more importantly have any suggestions to try and turn it off.

Hi have you had a look on Auto Trader ? - there a some nice examples on there Facelift and Pre Facelift - and sales are sluggish at the moment

You need a code reader so you can find out the specific fault condition.

If your car is 2015 you may also be covered by Relax if the Service History is up to date.

I got hold of an OBD reader and using an app on my phone I found some errors relating to ABS, but nothing for VSC. However, I cleared the errors shownand this seems to have removed the VSC notification.

On another note, I also have a 'Check System' notice along with a tyre and engine symbols. These have been displayed for the last couple of years since I had a TPMS valve replaced on one wheel. This has never caused an MOT failure, but wonder if you could suggest how I may clear the message - using the OBD if possible.

The "Check System" message indicates that car's ECU cannot communicate with one (or more) sensor in the wheels. Possible causes: sensor out of Battery, sensor ID wrongly programmed to ECU, no sensor at all, ... A decent tire shop should be able to scan the sensors to see if they are alive or not.

That explains it. When I had the TPMS valve replaced in one wheel 3-4 years ago I had to take it back because it kept showing a 'low pressure' warning. They said they had changed the valve and it seemed OK - until a couple of years ago when the 'Check System' warning appeared. So it is probably the valve playing up again. I'll have a tyre place check it out, but as long as it still does not affect the MOT I can put up with the message.
