Tips for selling

I’m selling my 2014 Lexus IS300h. Is a super car to drive, £10 road tax and only 41,000 miles on the clock. It does have a scrape on the back corner.  Despite advertising it on auto trader I’m not getting any genuine calls. Can anyone suggest where else I could be advertising it and what price I should be asking for it? Many thanks, Gill

Depending on how much you're looking to get out of it, I would seriously consider getting the scrape fixed, even if it's a few hundred quid to repair. And a new armrest is going to be under £100 surely. Check eBay.

You're up against the scrape and the fact that private sales over £10k are generally difficult as people would need finance.. Might be worth considering fixing it and checking what Motorway, WBAC and Arnold Clark offer if you were to get rid that way.

I agree with Lucas, anything over £10k is more difficult. I struggled to offload a Volvo privately for around £6k previously!

Webuyanycar thinks it’s worth £8.6k before the damage to the rear bumper and interior arm rest. I would replace the interior arm rest - interior damage like that is a real no no for me. I would also try to see if you can get the bumper looking better.

As there are dealer options (albeit higher mileage) for the same price and a few hundred quid more than you car, I would say you probably want to be closer to half way between wbac and a dealer - so perhaps £9700ish?
