Hi folks!

Lexus LS600hL 2008 president package (i think it's important in this case)

Got a phone from really good car repair shop today about my AC issue (there was leak) that some AC hose is damaged, which goes through whole car from front to rear (somewhere) and they are not gonna to fix it for me. I was surprised, because that's really good workshop. They said that it;s much work because they need to disassembly rear suspension and front .... sorry for my english (I am not from UK), but I mean suspension beam (it holds suspension arms, hope u know what do I mean).

i know that there is not so much information, but I have a question : does LS 4th gen has some typical issues with these kind of hoses, or even with orings (small circle gaskets) there? On the internet I can only see hose going through whole car only to refrigerator and can't see other ones.

Do the whole suspension must be disassembled to replace it?

sorry for stupid questions, but I just want to make some research for me about parts costs and to be able to explain my issue to some other workshop..

The issue with this situation for the workshop is they have to be fair to both parties .If they put a guy on this at a hourly rate and the work is as extensive as they estimate the cost could be more than the car is worth and that will only reflect badly on them in a public analysis.

If you take it to another workshop and they submit the same response you know you have a decision to make regarding the replacement of the a/c.

The LS430 had a similar design were the pipe running to the back outlet failed but the solution was to terminate and seal the back pipe and retain the front end a/c is that a possible outcome for your car it may be worth investigating.

Thank you for answer. I dont think that work can be more expensive than the car is worth. I dont know prices in UK, but LS in Poland costs around 70k PLN and workday of mechanic around 800-1000PLN.

I was thinking about your idea earlier, just to keep AC only on the front. I will not have cooler box, but it's not necessary to live..

hello. I just post it for the future, maybe my post will find someone in few years and be helpful.

I had a leak above the tank. I used metarials posted in this topic (find my answer)

and it cost me 45$. In Poland services wanted 2500USD from me for replacing this hose. It's sick.

After recharge gas, my AC still didn't work. AC compressor didn't start at all. The next issue ( I didn't know that is the issue, because I bought this car like 2months ago) was that on the consuption computer I could see electric motors, wheels, engine but I haven't seen arrows which shows where the power/energy goes at the moment - power flow. it showed B1473 and B1498 fault codes!!!

I found that one hybrid plug wasn't connected properly (in my case it wasn't connected at all). The plug I am talking is on the different side of car than the compressor AC is. I dont have any photo unfortunately, but it's very easy to see that. If you are under the car you need to remove the first cover which is under radiators and front of the engine. after that, you will immediately see on the passenger side (my car is LHD) big orange plug, at it wasn't connected in my scenario.

I connected the plug, AC comes back immediately, working perfect, and I can see power/energy flow going to/from wheels.
