Advice on buying a used NX300h

Recommended Posts

As I've mentioned elsewhere I am looking at selling our IS300h and buying an NX300h

Being lower to the ground and me getting on a bit, I find getting in and out of the IS an ordeal at times. It also lacks a lot of the bells and whistles we have on our Yaris.

Such as rear view camera, Android Auto and various other bits and pieces.  We are looking at an NX from around 2020-21, and will be buying from a Lexus dealership.

Other than the big VED increase,  probable insurance hike, as well as security issues, is there anything to look out for when going around the forecourt  ?

I understand fuel economy to be in the mid to high 40's per gallon, what do others get ?  I'm pretty light on the loud pedal and am getting (an indicated) 52mpg from our IS.

On my old 2019 NX300h I got pretty much the same as Steve.  I think mid-high 40s mpg may be asking a little too much.

I had a NX300H for 4 years and c32000 miles. Kept a log of every refuel and averaged just over 41mpg during my ownership with an all time low of 33.8 in winter months and a high of 46.3 in summer.

2021 Premium Sport is £180 VED unless you get one with both a colour option and the pano roof.

Only had it a few months and averaging 38 mpg so far, driving as carefully as I can. I think low 40’s is realistic rather than mid to high.

Regarding the VED, it's what I read elewhere, if the original on the road price was over 40k

You can check that on the DVLA Car Tax website.
