Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase a MK3 RX450h around the end of April and have been studying the varying specifications between trim levels to try and narrow down my choice. Ideally I'd like something like a 2012+ so I can take advantage of the Hybrid Health Check for a few more years. From what I've read and researched of part prices the air suspension seen on the SE-L & Premier models are best avoided as they are around a £1000 per corner for a strut, amongst a host of other pricy parts like air compressor etc. This then leaves the next highest spec down as the F-Sport.

Would anybody with a MK3 F-Sport be able to tell me if the shock absorbers are electronically adaptable (AVS), similar to those seen on the MK4 or are they just the usual passive ones seen on the other 450h's, albeit a different part number I assume to cater for the firmer damping? Basically trying to figure if these then fall into that category with a big price premium over the standard suspension setup of the Luxury/Advance models.

Many Thanks,

Josh

Hi Josh.

No AVS on any series III RX, that only came with the series IV. Full equipment spec can be found here:

Ah excellent thank you so kindly, for some reason that wouldn't download before but has now. Reassuring to know, I'm guessing the eco/normal/sport modes only alter throttle sensitivity etc. Looks like the F-Sport may be the wiser option over the Premier, suspension cost wise.

Many Thanks,

Josh
