Today I replaced the air filter on the 250, quite straightforward [thank you, YouTube] once you remove the engine bay covers....seems like there are acres of them.  Old one wasn't too bad, allegedly replaced just before I got her almost a year ago.

I've ordered a cabin AC filter which looks even easier.  Both replacements by Bosch, so should be decent quality [although everything now is made in China....:whistling1:].

Make sure you put the AC into recirculation mode before trying to replace the old cabin filter.

Exactly as John has shown you.

The critical thing is to put it into RECIRCULATION mode.

When you remove the panel at the back of the glove compartment you should find the lid to the filter is in the up position allowing full view of the filter to be replaced.

If it is not up    DO NOT TRY AND FORCE THE LID UP MANUALLY   you will break the selector arm!!!

Just put the ignition on and try again, when you get it right you will see the lid lift up to reveal the filter.

I removed all the engine bay covers when I got mine and left them off.  They don't do anything other than be in the way when you want to do anything...

AC filter replaced, took prob less than 10 minutes. The old filter was really grubby-looking, so was def needing replacement. Thanks for the helpful posts.

I'm slowly beginning to get to grips with the car, next job is to replace the reversing light[s] bulbs with LEDs to improve night-time backing up - and maybe the on-screen camera view when doing so.

I did away with my pollen filter and my windows clear so much faster. no need for it unless you live in a dusty place...
