RX 450h noise and shaking for 5 seconds

Hi, we recently bought a beautiful RX 450h 2017 and unfortunately sometimes the car is shaking and makes a noise for approximately 5 seconds when the petrol engine starts. Lexus service done recently. Spark plugs done too. Anyone else with the same issue?

I had the same. Was an injector. Causes the car to shake a little intermittently at idle

Yes sounds like faulty injector I had replaced under warranty and all has been fine since,

Same here on my Series 3 (2015) reported to Lexus Coventry as I had just bought it.

I said it was “hunting” that was as clear as day (old term meaning missing) but happened once or twice a good year or so back and has never shown its face since.

Not sure about the RX's but the IS250's were prone to this due to carbon build up. As others said for you it is likely a faulty injector.

The RX series IV should be less prone because it has both direct injection and port injection to keep the valves clean - the IS250 engine was only direct injection so valves never get washed and cleaned by petrol and its detergents.

Some injector cleaner, quality 99ron petrol and an italian tuneup might help but I'd guess using the Relax warranty and getting Lexus to check the injectors would be the best option.
