Going away for a few weeks?  ES on drive?  How would you feel about jacking it up and removing a wheel and securing it safely. Just a thought whilst having a few in the pub!

Why not just disconnect the Battery?. Or pull fues for ignition or fuel pump.

That doesn’t stop someone damaging the vehicle when trying to steal it because there is no visual deterrent.

Ian, excellent ideas, but getting into that fuze box is a pain.  The Battery seems easier.  Surely some easy isolation of both could be fitted?

It's not too bad getting to the fuses, Battery is easier being in the boot. The problem with Battery disconnection is loss of alarm. As Colin says a visual deterrent is also needed, hence why I use a steering lock. I will just slow them down hopefully.

What ever you do damage is likely if they want the car, we have seen them cutting off locks. In the 80's you would take off the steering wheel or gear stick, but these days with airbags it's a bit risky.

Not good for the tyre but if if it is only for a week or two it should'nt do damage.

Probably deter the casual, opportunistic theft.  But many thefts of these cars are targeted, so they would no doubt come equipped with a suitable spare.

An excellent suggestion.  If location and budget permit, I think these are a very effective deterrent.  When properly installed, I suspect that even ramming them might be ineffective and attract more attention than would be desirable.

Apart from which, it would possibly so damage the attacking vehicle that the whole action would prove uneconomical.

I also have electric security gates but they could just smash through those as well. I really would like a ghost immobiliser but not possible.

This clip from what I believe was a documentary, demonstrates the very effective use of a ghost immobiliser.
