You're right Malc, but only on the drivers side (had to go out and have a look 😄)

Passenger side is silverish bar a scuff here and there. Maybe they were repainted at some point? Maybe drivers side was starting to be prepped for painting but never followed through? I have no idea.

I know that people attempt wheel refurbs on their own, with varying success. Here is a chap's car I happened across in 2021. He did a respectable job, all on his own. Dunno what he used to do for a living, but he had some skills. Either way, mine need a good dose of looking at...

So if they’ve a paint’ish coating then maybe they can just be dipped whatever to remove all that crud, get them back to true thru and thru solid state plastic and then left alone ……. and if that reveals a good colour then have the wheels Powder Coated to match ……. All as ORIGINAL colour all those decades back 🤔

Just a thought

If you are still considering anthracite coloured wheels these are that colour on my Celsior, not OEM wheels but gives you an idea what they would look like.

These were done maybe 3 years ago by my local body shop and they painted all the wheels not just the face side plus the centre caps to match.

Back then cost me £280.00 all in for the 4.

Malc - good idea. My plan is to try different local places and decide based on the advice given.

Steve - that's a bonny looking bus! The wheel colour does look like what I had in mind, like a gunmetal grey colour. It's interesting that you mention bodyshops - I hadn't thought to try them, so thanks for the tip.
