Upgrade from 7" to 10.3" Infotainment Head Unit?

Recommended Posts

After some consideration i ended up buying a used 2021 4WD "Midnight" trim UX250h instead of a CT200h. It felt more worth the money getting something a bit newer and with some more punch even if it meant paying a bit more.

For me, this trim level had pretty much everything i cared about, e.g., heated seats, power boot, 4WD etc. The only downsides are the lackluster 6 speaker sound system (easy to improve with the addition of a subwoofer) and the sad 7" infotainment screen. Has anyone managed to upgrade their infotainment screen from the 7" to the optional 10.3"? I've found a few Android based HU that look very similar but they seem to be OOS and i'd rather go the "official" route. Is this upgrade possibile if i can somehow find an original 10.3" unit? Or order it directly from Lexus?

If you order a screen and headunit directly from Lexus it would be cheaper to sell your vehicle and purchase another UX with the higher specification as you would be looking at a bill for £4k+.

That's what i had initially planned, but Luxury trims in good shape in the year/mileage i was looking for were non existent, or they also had the 7" screen.

Guess i'll just hope to find one parted out, or search for something aftermarket...

Look on ebay for breakers, you may get surprised how much stuff there is in there

That's also a good idea, thanks.

Any tips on how to find out the part number of the 10.3" screen for LHD vehicles? Kind of a newb at this 😁

When I was in that situation, I just wrote to the dealership asking how much it was and the part number and they sent me both the price and the P/N

I’m not lecturing but I recently had the opportunity to buy the cleanest 21 plate Premium Pack Plus in existence but as tempting as it was I was insistent that my mrs would get her ventilated seats and I would not let the price cloud the fact it had that demonic track pad - once bitten.  I just had to wait and get the latest version with the seats and a touchscreen because updating is never as easy or economical as it sounds.
