You’ll enjoy Italy Top to Toe and up into the mountains and around the lakes …… bootiful driving, the month i did wasn’t really enough tbh

Could be a minor Life Changing experience ……. along the Amalfi coast somewhere they grow lemons you can happily eat the whole ….. no wincing necessary 😂

OK

Planning another Lexus Euro Roadtrip next year.

Two months duration.

May and June.

Did Spain Portugal this year.

Suggestions please..must be a lovely loop....no car ferries.

Have just added up the countries I have visited over many years by motorbike and car I think it is 15. Last year I passed through 10 countries (not including England) on my bike travelling to Croatia and back. I would say France is by far the best country in Europe.

We do like France. As it is so huge a large chunk of the two months would be spent there anyway, if we do Italy.

Don't like to do more than 250 miles in a day as a rule. No need when we have plenty of time to dawdle.

May even avoid motorways entirely.

Working out a rough route...

Is Austria really tough on emissions and tolls? Never been.

Passed through Austria on m/c this year didn't see any restrictions for emissions and avoided toll roads.

If you go to Italy, be prepared for traffic jams and roads in worse condition than in the UK. I went to Lake Garda some years ago and would recommend the lakes.

Italian motorways were a bundle of non-joy when I visited ………. sometimes suddenly ending in unsurfaced, progressing down to unmade sections before dragging off onto the ordinary bad roads …….. and some Italian drivers were stupendous in their hilarious manoueverings 🤣😂😰 🥵

I never pre booked accommodation, just arrived more or less where I thought I should that day and always found summat quite ok ……. pre-booking so ties one down to places you might not wish to end the day at ……. realism sometimes “ hurts” once you get there

Yes, 2 months adventuring around would have been better ……. just be more aware that travelling in the south might put you more on edge coz the mafioso has greater control …… but a simple older Lexus traveller should be clear of grief 🤞🤞🤞

Main thing is to just ENJOY 👍

Last year my motorbike holiday was a tour of Italy, likewise no booked accomodation. We went down the west coast about 100 mile beyond the Amalfi coast (which is a beautiful stretch of coastline, but was horrendous in the traffic and June heat) then across the country to the East coast which had less traffic but fewer nice towns. In summary, a beautiful country spoilt by awful traffic anywhere near a large town or city, probably better in an air conditioned / convertible car than on a bike. Many years since I went the lakes but despite the journey to and from it is lovely.
