My brother does exactly the same thing. Seems to work very well withe Internet for searches for accommodation.

Rarely used the internet ……. just found somewhere, passing by that looks good, knock on the door, have a chat and usually, often stay for the night !

Interestingly if you had been doing that as a Brit 'on holiday' for a bit of ravage and pillage back in 1400 you would likely have been doing it in the local dialect.

Landed in our little gite for a couple of nights.

Only thing to report was a couple of times the alarm went off. Both times when I was having a comfort break on the motorway.

Going to smash the 400 mile tank mark this time. Reduced the cruise to 2000 rpm, about 75 mph.

Leaving a phone in the car can sometimes activate the car alarm.

I've been to Northern Spain and France quite a few times and always enjoyed the trips.

Funny though I have never visited Yorkshire. I understand Yorkshire Folk are wonderful.  😜
