Duplicate key IS300h 3rd gen

Any ideas whether getting duplicate key from Lexus dealer or 3rd party locksmith (who claims to have the same equipment as dealer) would make any difference? Price difference is almost 2 times.

Don’t think it will make much difference, a key is a key. If it works as intended then locksmith is okay.

I just hope the key, from the 3rd party will perform correctly.  My son had an 08 Accord, lost 2nd key.  Purchased a key from a renown High St. chain.  Result deep grief, sent the Honda into a right old state.  It didn’t like it one bit!  Result new Honda key.

Can you please elaborate more? I am also worried that duplicate key by local locksmith may mess up electronics.

After 2 3rd party keys.  None worked successfully.  Cannot remember all details.  Best of luck.
