Hello all - I have been away on holiday for three weeks and came back to a very internally damp RX-400 and the warning messages 'CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM - CHECK VSC SYSTEM'. I knew my aux Battery was a little worse for ware and so called the AA to replace it, hoping that the error messages would be resolved. Unfortunately, despite a new aux Battery the codes persist and I am not able to start the car. On inspecting the front driver footwell and boot footwells (both left and right) there was quite a lot of water there. I have not been able to inspect the areas below the rear seat housing the HV Battery, but am pretty sure that that area is also very damp/wet and as such a P0AA6 isolation issue is the cause for the error messages. I am trying to isolate the cause for the leak, while at the same time trying to dry the car using a heater and moisture absorbers bought from amazon. I have no indoor area to carry out this process so am at the mercy of the elements.

I am hesitant to get the car towed to my nearest Lexus dealership (this is the second time the car has been flooded, previously it was still under warrantee) - for fear of the dealership costs associated to the fix, even if its just a relay replacement/drying out process. Can anyone suggest a next step for me and perhaps a garage in the Surrey region that you may have used to get this issue resolved? I am in KT12, Walton-On-Thames.

Many thanks

Scott

There was another thread about this issue last week, so have a look back.....

This is the thread I was referring to.

Any luck yet?

Yes, these cars have this problem of water ingress. I have tried finding the leak but couldn't even after taking apart most of the interior - it must be behind the second layer of the car frame somewhere near back door.

These are the specialists to go to if you're not too far from them: https://cars.newagain.co.uk/car-water-leak.asp. First watch the video on their website giving some ideas what to check first - you may not need to visit them after all.

Otherwise I have left some microfibre towels on the bottom of the trunk below plastic trim (had to unscrew a few bits): they absorb and keep the water from flowing further to the rear passenger footwells etc, I occasionally squeeze them out...

One day I'll get that snake camera and will figure out the exact spots where water is coming through.

Oh dear.

Did you get closer to a resolution, Scott?

( At least the weather is meant to be dryer now. )

Alas not yet Piers...  Despite days of drying the car with the heater and no rain in the interim the check hybrid system fault still prevails.

I took the car to a local garage yesterday - they did a diagnostic on the car and got the same code that the AA had shown me - the dreaded P0AA6 code. They are not able to help me assess if the issue is an actual problem with the hybrid Battery or the relay in the Battery compartment. I now have to search for someone who can assist.

Slowly losing faith and hope in my Lexus 😪

Sorry to hear that, Scott. 😞

Have you tried googling "hybrid Battery specialists in Surrey"?  ...

BTW - Forum comment suggests that most leaks are courtesy of the sun roof ... assuming you have one of course!

Hope this helps.

For what it's worth, the interior carpets have really thick and dense recycled padding fabric underneath. It took me DAYS to dry it up after REMOVING all of the interior carpet upholstery and taking into the house.

Not sure how you've been drying it up but in this cold weather here in UK I doubt it is dry yet...
