SC430 FOR SALE Chat

Colours seem to go in and out of of fashion in particular green and brown/bronze over time. Currently they seem to be in. I bought a dark green BMW Z3M coupe in 2009.  I didn’t want a green one but the condition was way above every other one I looked at. I did however soon begin to love the colour. Green was not in when they were made as out of 500 cars only 25 were green so a very rare colour. My perfect car would be a LC500 in green, bronze or metallic red although I am happy with my blue SC for now. If only they had made the LC with a roof set up like the SC it could have been even better.

The Green was referred to as Pine . The last BMW 335 I had was a similar internal tan colour which is probably my favourite leather colour. Just lifts it when it is with green bodywork.

Think she is Twilight Amethyst. Same colour I went to see at the beginning of the year. Looks almost Black in some lighting.

Hope he gets his ask, but it is pushing the price ceiling a bit in my view.

Yes price is a little steep, many cars in that price bracket are just not selling .

As to colour name, this is from the Uk sales brochure 👍🏻

Can't argue with that.

Same as mine, as you say looks great in the sun. Without the sun it looks brown and at night it looks black. I'd love it more if the sun shone more often.

Mine’s on autotrader tonight at 4350. Only on for 2 weeks, but intend to SORN it in November if not sold by then. It’s cheap. Won’t take any stupid offers.

I would have no idea what a good respray costs these days

A dozen rattle cans from Halfords, about £60 ?

Seriously - I had the bonnet resprayed due to stone chips and was worried about matching the colour and metallic flakes in the paint.  The result was an absolutely perfect match and you really could not see any difference. They used a digital colour calibrator/checker plus a bit of knowledge and experience - Excellent job!

Almost Chorley but not as posh. In between Adlington ( strange place ) and Bolton ( Look out someone is throwing a brick! ) Closer to Blackrod ( even Police dogs don't go there ) and not far from Rivington where lots of children have been conceived over the years - I know!.  Ah, the pleasures of North West England  and don't dare mention the rain.

Here’s an example of the inconsistency in SC430 values , same year, similar mileages…

To be honest, I would guesstimate a sensible value of mine at £7000, but I don't really want to keep it for ever. Only a day or so to run on this advert. 364 views. ONE phone call of a guy who said he would phone back, with the idea of a viewing... No call back. A trader offered 3500 about 2 months back. Am seeing if he may be interested still, no doubt at next to nothing now, even though I've spent £500 since.

My idea to SORN it this month was delayed til December, if necessary. MOT due mid December.

Had half a plan to MOT it next week and then offer 13months ticket on it?

Sadly winter approaching and convertibles might get consigned to garages and mothballed ……..

Still with a view to getting top money for my car, I've had a new key fob for a couple of years and resented the £175 quote to programme it, so it has sat in a drawer since :-(.  I have tried maybe 10 different methods to programme this myself from the original key and failed miserably. You know the system, 3 taps on the brake, 3 on accelerator, strum the dash twice, get out the car, run round and back in... NOTHING has worked. Has anyone done it? and have a foolproof (I need that) method to programme it?? PLEASE!  Mine's a late 2004 SC430.
