Tilting Wing Mirrors On Reverse

Hi, My wing mirrors more often than not do not tilt down when i select reverse. What could be the possible issue please?

When you put the mirror switch in either L or R position the mirror should lower when in reverse gear and return to normal when not in reverse gear. Failing that the mechanism may need lubricating if seized.

A common problem- if it’s intermittent then a good dose of lubricant (WD40?) behind the glass followed a while later by moving the mirror through its full range up/down and side/side.

Thanks guys i was not aware the mirror switch had to be in the L or R position and i think thats the issue

I think it's the opposite way round on these, isn't  it? So leave the switch to right mirror to get the passenger side to dip.
