LS600h transmission earth strap

Does anyone have a part number or some aftermarket options for this missing earth strap? The dealer is asking (please make sure you are sitting down) £262.60 for this part. It seems to me that a very generic earth strap should work fine. There's nothing special about Lexus electrons. 😄

That should be fine. As you say, an earth strap is an earth strap, nothing special about it.

And you can seemingly get it bespoke size made …… and at £3.99 seems brill

I just need to wait for the car to be returned so I can crack off those old bolts and work out what size I need.

Might of course be something you could pop into your local Motor Factor, Halfords or even B&M to buy 🤔

Exactly as Malc suggests and from experience I can tell you Halfords offer various lengths, one of which will suit your needs and be much, much kinder to your wallet. Jeez, £262.60 for an earth strap, is, as my daughter would say, someone having a giraffe!

There must be an ancient Japanese art of braiding fine quality cables. They train for 40 years to become a master, and only then are they good enough to weave the ground straps for Lexus vehicles.

Just reading this thread, I also have the same issue with the earth snapped, the one that's connects to the gearbox.

I think it is 5 inches long and braided 

I will see what Halfords say.
