Navigation adding a stop or a via route to a destination

I am a week into driving my new car and wondered if anyone has come across a way to add a stop or a via route to a destination?

Just search for another destination and when selected it will ask you if this is to become a new destination or an interim waypoint (I’m paraphrasing what the actual words are). The time to destination shown is that of the first stop until you arrive. It works pretty seamlessly for us.
