I have a 2002 IS300 which I rarely use. One of the reasons is that I have no sense of direction, so rely on satnav, which my car doesn't have. Plug-in units just look messy, so I'd like to have it built in, preferably with phone connectivity.

Is this feasible or will it likely cost more than the car is worth at this point?

This was my sub £100 setup when I had a 1st-gen IS.

Quite neat. A fairly modest TomTom unit with Bluetooth connectivity, and the suction mount was attached to a £5 adhesive plastic disc. The cabling was routed in behind the centre console and plugged into the cig lighter.

Not every IS has that storage bin on top of the dash but I'm sure something similar can be achieved in 2023. 🙂

To be honest with you it's not worth the bother, hassle trying, someone did manage many years ago to fit a Sony sat nav into the lexus is200 sat nav housing other than that not much else. Alternatively you could get an after market stereo with built-in sat nav

SatNav technology moves apace and your mobile phone could be your best friend with map reading and directions …… waze, Google maps and a plethora more I believe

Good luck
