Good idea, but....

Tiff and I were trundling down the A1(M) and A14 this morning en route to Royston. At least two and maybe three overhead signs were saying "DON'T HOG THE MIDDLE LANE" or "KEEP LEFT UNLESS OVERTAKING" but the vast majority of the middle lane hogs ignored them. As I approached one of the signs whilst in Lane 3 whilst overtaking a middle lane hog, I gave the MLH a swift toot and pointed to the overhead sign. I just got a look of "uuuuuh?" and then a flash as I pulled over to lane 1 after the overtake to prove my point. There is no reasoning with these cretins, is there?

Being generous I would say this numpties spend too much time watching American TV and think that we should drive like them.

Not being generous I would suggest buying a South African Army Mbombe so you could nudge them into the correct lane💣

That's one of my pet hates too.

It's quite simple really - if you're not going faster than the traffic in the lane to the left of you then pull into that lane when it's safe to do so. It's not rocket science.

Generally a lack of awareness. Easier to 'sleepwalk autopilot' behind the wheel.

It's no different than I get when walking my dog. He's a German Shepherd and typically taught to be people neutral albeit at a distance of a metre. He will react to people or other dogs approaching me closer. Bearing that in mind when I see someone coming with another dog I have my body between him and them. Helps if the other people are awake and see it and copy. The we have two dogs separated by two people. Easy hey. Don't believe it, hardly ever happens. Most people are just sky gazing, on their phones , or away with the fairies not paying attention to  anything. May be I should have posted that on 'what am I ranting about today' thread.

Yes it's gobsmacking how many 'steerers' ignore the overhead signs and then find themselves having to do a dangerous manoeuvre.

Oh I love truck driving. I have a number of laughs every time I'm out. It makes my day.
