Towing with a NX

What are the general conclusions on towing with a Lexus Hybrid??

Garden rubbish trailer?

Boat?

Caravan?

 

Since the close sibbling the RAV4 has good reviews i recon the NX will do fine too..

No issue other than quite low maximum nose and overall towing weights. You typically see a higher mpg hit on hybrids compared to a conventional petrol engined vehicle when towing as the benefits of the hybrid system are diminished with the extra weight.

I tow a 1350KG touring caravan with my NX300H the tow ball weight is a issue at around 65KG so I carry nothing in the front of the Caravan anything of weight on rear seats of car. I have just doe 2 journeys of 200 miles plus each and returned 29.3 MPG. Got to still say not the best Caravan tower around as soon as you hit a incline foot down to maintain speed (50 mph).

I have a Takumi NX 450h+ with Lexus towbar fitted. It's only used with a very small trailer to take stuff down to the tip. We also have a bike rack for x2 electric bikes and it's perfect. Lexus cars in general seem not to be viable  tow cars and I wouldn't have bought one  if I owned a caravan. The nose weight limit is tiny compared to my old Audi Q5.

Pleased with the way it handles with 1500kgs of Knaus on the ball....

Now to find some good tow-mirrors
