I am looking to buy a late year low mileage SC430 preferably with full Lexus service history, looking to spend a max of 12k and would prefer to buy from an enthusiast rather than a showroom.

Big welcome Craig. In your position not so long ago and now very much a 'got one' (no, you can't have it) !

Your profile for the car might be squeezing it depending on what you consider to be 'low mileage'. Later years have a scarcity value above the norm as so few were actually sold in the UK. Of the approx 2300 sold about half were in the first two years following launch and then they fell off exponentially. Therefore late year if you are talking 2007 and after not many about and even fewer for sale. Combine that with low mileage if you think that is say below 50k and it's a very very thin market. Still, be very specific about defining 'late year' and 'low mileage' and I am sure members here will get back to you if they spot one that matches your criteria.

As a more unusual way of getting what you want you might look at Japan for an import. They have a lot more low mileage and late years to offer albeit you have to be prepared for going through the import process with all that that entails.

Preferably 06 onwards with 60k miles, there are a few on autotrader that fit the bill but would like one  that has been already cherished and with known history.

I will keep an eye peeled. Occasionally the odd one appears not on autotrader. I think you might be on budget for that spec albeit you might have to  be patient waiting for the right one to appear. Unless of course a member decides he is ready to have a change. That's what happened for me so I hope it can happen for you.

I have a 2004 and it is low mileage. I have not owned a late model so I can’t compare but l am so happy with mine as they were a great car from the start. They basically are all the same spec regardless of year with subtle differences. The main difference being the later ones have a 6 speed rather than 5 speed gearbox and better suspension although ditching the original run flat tyres improves things enormously. My advice would be to buy the best one you see regardless of age. Late models with low miles go for so much more than the rest but due to the SC not being most peoples cup of tea they can take months to sell so sellers may be open to lower offers. Good luck in your search, there are some really nice examples around.

The 2006 facelift models also have factory fitted Bluetooth , LED rear lights, revised front grille, single front fog lights chrome trim as well as the 6-speed gearbox and uprated suspension.

Will probably be joining you on the search for same.

Will be after a white interior, unless a red one pops up.

Do they do white , or is that an approximation for Ecru ?

Cream. Pale beige. Whatever. Not black or grey or tan.

I think red is only on Japanese imports or American Pebble Beach Editions.

It's not white but the beige/ecru interior is also known as ivory.

If you want the experience to be a bit more fun then the later version is certainly worth considering. They are great cars but I think they are still a bit overpriced at present.

Black interiors are much easier to maintain. The beige is hard work with heavy use and Lexus no longer make the beige mats so black is the only replacement option.

You know some people listen to whale music to relax. I will just put that video on loop with the sound muted.

Hi Julie..............................because I live in the same town as you.

When the SC430 first came out I saw a Champagne coloured one parked in Wellswood. I did not like the colour and sort of remember it being smallish.

I've been thinking about buying one for a couple of years and have seen yours around town liking the colour being quite similar to the 3 Mercedes CLK320 I have owned in "Quartz Blue".

Finally I saw yours parked in Teignmouth car park and was able to have a good look around it confirming that it's not a small car at all. Yours is a lovely car and great colour. I then purchased mine 6 months ago not long after seeing yours.

If yours had been for sale then I would have purchased it.

Best wishes.

With your being a "facelift" model with quite low mileage and a rare colour then you should have no problem selling it.

Even better if it was registered before April 2006.
