Map updates

Recommended Posts

I used to do map updates on my Prius by USB, but I will not bother updating the factory unit now as having CarPlay I will just use apple Maps.

I tried the map update from the e-store (Spring 2024 update) and despite the system recognising the update on the USB stick, accepting the licence key entered and going through the update process for an hour, it ended with an error that has now bricked my nav system. I have to get the dealer to investigate & resolve this. Lesson learnt.

I too download the map update when ever I click on the map update option in the car it comes up problem with map updater, contact dealer.
I have it booked in next month for a couple of days for them to sort it.
The service managed even said that some cars are not accepting the updates and I asked what if mine is the same he just said that we will cross that bridge when we come to it.
So will have to wait and see.

Well car has gone into the dealer today to see if they can update the maps, they said it could take a couple of days, I even given them a USB drive with the latest map updates on.
So will have to wait and see.

Ours is booked in to dealers next week for them to update the maps with the latest update, just as they did last year & at their suggestion when we booked it in for the latest recall.

Got the car back with the latest maps installed but it still says “ problem with map updater, please contact your dealer” when I go into update option.
So looks like the only way is to get the dealer to update every time it is in for a service.

I showed my dealer from the first week I got the car that it wasn’t right and even after a year they just said that it updated for them and tried to say I was using the incorrect USB drive.
