Insurers don’t recognise Premium Zpack

Advice please! I pick up my new NX450h Premium Pack model tomorrow but insurers insist this does not exist and I have to stipulate Tacumi, FSport or Executive. Anyone else encounter this problem?

Hi...I have the same car and am insured with LV. They designate the vehicle as a LEXUS NX 450H+ VVT-I AUTO which I think other insurers will also use for the standard Premium Pack Model.

I am with Aviva and they did not recognise the premium plus pack Only Takumi, F sport or LEXUS NX 450H+ VVT-I AUTO which after taking to the dealership this is what I had to go with.  Aviva said the plus pack was an add on and therefore not part of the “basic car spec” This was in June so things may have moved on ? But from the original post it looks like they have not

I took delivery of my 450h in March 2022 and Aviva recognised it then with no mention of the plus pack being an add on???

Not sure what to say.  I have been with Aviva for several years so tried to switch from my NX300h to the NX450h on line using the MyAviva app. - could not complete as the reg did not yet appear on DVLA.  Rang up and was given the 3 choices - I did not understand the VVT option.  Dealership confirmed that this was the correct version for the premium and premium with the plus pack. Went back to Aviva and that was when I got the comment regarding the addon

only thing I can ask is did you insure yours with the reg or with the actual description?

If you go to compare the market site and ask for an insurance quote for an NX without specifying the reg you're given just three spec options as per screen image below

I too was switching from a 300h to a 450h. Did the transaction over the phone with a vehicle description as 8 was transferring a private reg number. Didn't have any issue but as long as you have now got this sorted then that's all that matters. Incidentally has your premium risen by much?

Very strange, but yes after a bit to and fro between Aviva and dealership it got sorted.

I had only renewed the month before which saw a fairly big rise, so the increase from the 300h to the 450h came out at just over £7 a month - that’s with the AvivaPlus policy.

the policy show the vehicle as    Lexus NX PHEV 450h+ VVT-I 302 5E AWD.    Bit of a mouthful , what is your vehicle description on your policy,  may give them a call to clarify?

The 302 is the BHP but not sure about the 5E
