Am I mad? I love my RX400H but it's starting to show its age tech wise.

Did you like it/ buy it? Must be cheap for a reason but if it’s well maintained go for it 😃

230,000 miles?

Check the mot history for this one YG66XAP. It’s a GS300h with 320k+ miles. My friend had it and it still runs impeccable to present day. You would never tell the mileage. Maintain these cars as you should and they will never let you down.

Btw this GS still runs on the original hybrid Battery. There’s a reason Lexus gives 15 years warranty without mileage restriction for the hybrid Battery right?

Saw this RX on Autotrader and seems to be good maintained. It won’t be there for too long. Would rather buy a high mileage hybrid than one that has done 4-5k miles a year for school runs. You will also save a fortune.

243,000 mostly motorway miles. It has a takeoff judder (a thing Ive heard happens at about 1200 revs) and that is a concern

I think owning and running a car into a high mileage, versus buying a high mileage car are two different things.

Why?

If you own a low mileage car and run it yourself to a high mileage you know if it has been looked after. Buying a high mileage car is more of a risk, as you don’t know how it has been driven or maintained.

I was waiting in the dealership this afternoon and overheard the service receptionist say " We'll book the 250 thousand mile service"

I didn't catch what model it was unfortunately 🥺

Quite a few years ago, Mitsubishi brought out the Carisma model (no carisma at all actually!) and a local taxi firm bought them in. After some had covered big  mileages (200,000 +) they went to trade them in. Mitsubishi bought them at a premium price to strip down to see how well they had run. I thought they did that before launching but apparently "real world driving" - especially hard driving as a taxi was a better test bed.

I wavered for a day and it was gone. I feel that these 2016s are just starting to get into the 200K+ range – so its new territory...though yes theyre Lexus, Jap built tanks.

The judder was the issue for me. It was a beauty i have to say. Lexus service 2 owners. In fact it sort of felt a bit too good to be true.
