My dealer and a number of UK OL Lexus parts suppliers quoted a price of just short of £400 for this piece of polystyrene!

I looked at the following overseas suppliers who have a good reputation with goods coming from Toyota Central Spares locations and got one for a little over £100.

These sites are:

https://yoshiparts.com

https://www.amayama.com/en

https://www.megazip.net

https://partsouq.com

They all have good software with on screen access to the parts catalogue pages with short and full stock numbers.

So, for example, for the space saver tool tray the short number (PCN?) is 64779E  for the UK supplied deep one (on the left) and the one that covers a space saver in the middle of this picture. But when you click on the latter you get its full part number 64779-33280.

Now, I don't have to be 'nice' to the dealer's parts guy and find him/her on a good day (an oxymoron I think)!

partsouq are good... they are dubai based i think but they were quick at delivery and much cheaper for oem parts. had the part within 4 days

however, i would give Lexus Parts Direct a try first as i have also had good deal for parts as well, not always but worth checking first.

Only thing i guess that may be an issue is if ordering outside UK for expensive items is the good old customs will get their greasy mits on it.

Steve,

I agree that Lexus parts direct https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/ are very good, but for this part I was quoted £400+. Sometimes also Then because the lady started from my reg/VIN I was not convinced that I was not going to get the UK supplied tray which fits the whole wheel well as the short part numbers are identical.

Another alternative UK supplier is

https://www.oemlux.co.uk/ they quoted around £300 for the tray

My local dealer reluctantly confirmed the long part number (as quoted on this forum) but the parts guy quickly said it's not for a UK supplied vehicle so no warranty/no returns! Great service for £400 I thought. Especially for a non-critical part. I couldn't resist sarcastically replying if you fit your own rubber boot tray/liner I suppose that voids the warranty!

With regards to HMRC we will see if I am contacted by the FEDEX handling agent for tax on an amount paid of £100.98!

I hesitate to confess to this but I sawed the bottom off my tool tray (which took some courage on an ES Takumi only a fortnight old!). I measured carefully and used a fine-toothed wood saw to do the job. I then tidied up the sawn area with black heavy duty underfloor dust and draught liner sheet (bought for about £3 from B&Q) and carefully fixed in place with black duct tape. It looks very neat and strong. All of the tools still fit perfectly, the boot floor is level and fits as before with the spare wheel in place. From inside the boot it’s not possible to tell that anything has been done but, importantly, I have peace of mind knowing that I don’t have to rely on the hit and miss puncture goo stuff.

Good job. I bet your Takumi is just beautiful. My ES PE arrived 24/8/23 on a trailer from the dealers*

I'll let everyone know (confirm) if the thin tray does the job OK.

Total cost after currency exchange was £112.76 (including forex bank fee). I'll let you know if HMRC sting me with anything.

*I purchased my ES PE via MOTORFINITY and paid c.£34.4k instead of £40k.

Bluelight/Military/NHS/teachers (serving or retired) are eligible via the appropriate membership/card of Bluelight/Defence Discount/Teachers' Perks, etc.

MOTORFINITY acts like a fleet buying intermediary.

You won't get the LEXUS 'welcome experience', quick demo and/or set-up at the dealers BUT I've found only practice and reading the manual makes things sink in anyway.
