Hi All,

I am in process of ordering my first Lexus UX 250h. I am deciding between F Sport Design vs Normal UX with Premium Plus pack. One of main diff is the screen size in both the model, I wanted to know if there are any functional difference between these 2 screens or is it just screen size. Unfortunately, i am not able to find any details on this on internet.

Also, if anyone else had the same dilemma, what did they choose and why?

Regards,

Pavan

I’ve got the fsport design 8” screen, reading the nav manual that covers both I can’t say I’ve seen anything that differentiates between the 8 and 12 regarding operations. 8” screen is plenty for me I wouldn’t be picking my spec just to get the larger one.

Thank you for the reply. I was also thinking of other additions like full leather seats, electrically adjustments seats etc.  But it seems that those are bit gimmicky and you are happy with your car.

i have the basic Normal UX with Premium Plus plus sunroof. It works out cheaper but is around £39'000 today

only the takumi is different with better materials being used

so your best bet is to get basic at £35'000 and add what you need extra via purchasing a pack

The 12" system has maps fully embedded into the system whereas the 8" system is cloud based. Normally not an issue but if you are in a place of no mobile signal or the cloud service is down it might result in a loss of map.

UX with Premium Plus is over £3.5k more than the F Sport Design, and it is also now over the £40k threshold for extra VED so isn't such a good deal anymore.

Exactly, UX+ premium plus pack takes it over £40K and extra £390 per year is a real pain. also, the price difference is almost £3.3K so its almost £90 per month more on PCP. So, it seems that F Sport Design seems like a reasonable compromise.

i am surprised by that. i wonder why the packs are now more expensive as back in 22 when i purchased it was £36'000 for the premium pack and the sunroof

I have the f sport design as well with the 8 inches screen. No difference from the 12.3 inches it does the same thing  apart from being a larger screen and looks which is always subjective. I also been thinking of getting the base UX with premium plus pack but the VED surcharge is the real bummer. Any car  40k and above has to pay the surcharge for 5 years. But happy with the f sport design at the moment.

What are the differences between the two as i never fully understood the differences

Difference wise the Luxus blurb for the Design over the standard UX was...

"Its road presence is enhanced with the F Sport spindle grille, featuring a Lexus L-motif mesh pattern, finished in black with a chrome surround for the lower section that accentuates the car’s planted stance. The same pattern is featured in the enlarged bezels housing the fog lights and cornering lights in the F Sport front bumper, with contrasting chrome L-shaped surrounds. The rear bumper also has an F Sport-specific design, with a jet black roof spoiler and moulding details around the light clusters. The 18-inch F Sport alloy wheels have a 10-spoke design and a dark metallic finish.

Other F Sport Design standard specification details include synthetic leather seat upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic air conditioning with Lexus’ Nanoe-X air quality system, reversing camera, automatic wipers, LED headlights with Automatic High Beam, Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert with auto brake, chrome roof rails, black wheel arch mouldings and Lexus “F” badging."

It's a gutter that £390 VED for the first 5 years equates to just short of £2k. I actually thought it was a lot more. There's a few on here who didn't realize that until after the purchase.

My UX with the top premium pack came with the sunroof. The only things i don't have is the heated steering wheel and the automatic folding wing mirrors, I have to do that manually everything else is there and works well

i still have the CD player, don't forget, and the trackpad being of the 2018 design. i also have the well renowned Nickel-Metal Hydride

Ni-MH batteries can withstand harsher weather conditions, from freezing winters to blazing-hot summers. This is why you’ll find them in the AWD Prius, which is a hybrid car that is great for snow states and desert states.

Yebbut options and specs have changed for the current models, a Design has premium pack and some premium plus bits plus the bling external style bits over the base model.  This does make an attractive value buy under the £40,000 ceiling compared to up scaling a standard unless there is some option you really want/need.

Personally, i find that my lack of the heated steering wheel and for the wing mirrors to be operated manually to be an oversight, as there was no real valid reason for the admission for a top spec pack. The sunroof was an extra that the original owner had placed of which i had to pay for as they had cancelled the order just prior to taking delivery the week before

I then come along thinking of many months of wait time if i placed an order only to be told i was in luck and that I could take delivery the following day

so far so good with nothing of note to report on

What difference are you looking for is it the infotainment or the trim/models itself. I think its been well compared above.
heated steering wheel and electronically heated wing mirrors are both standard on F sport. Sunroof is no longer an option for f sport design

I'm one of them. Premium Plus with sunroof MY23 late 2022.  I'm on a PCP and my dealer came to me and offered a straight swap into the late 2022 model from my late 2020 model for no extra monthly charge. Then the prices went up in the meantime which they swallowed but I've ended up swallowing the extra £390 tax a year. Negotiated a change into an ES Premium early 2024 which is priced just under the threshold.
