Check strap issue

I purchased a 2016 RX from a Lexus dealership back in November. At the time of my purchase, I didn't realise that the passenger side door check strap was not attached properly. I have reached out to the dealership who really couldn't care less. As it was as it was a Lexus main dealer, I thought they would be more understanding. However, this is not the case any suggestions would be welcomed. I've driven Lexus as for the past seven years in fact throughout the whole of my driving life I've never heard of check straps, not been secured correctly or properly on any vehicle

The video shows the removal of a check strap on a RX350 - not your model but I would imagine a very similar procedure. 

 

Are you prepared to name the dealership?

I would consider that poor service but possibly they might argue it is incorrect opening of the door (swinging open harshly, wind?). Writing to the Dealership Principal might be one course you could take.

Looking at the video might explain their reluctance - not a two minute job but doable by a competent technician!
