It looks very nice, much more RC DNA than LC.

Won't sound like much as no V8.Performance should be"adequate" as the LC hybrid is fairly close to the V8.

Sonic Red or Terrane Khaki for me.

Take the article with a pinch of salt. There'll be a V6 hybrid sure. But I'm also sure there's some talk of a twin turbo V6.

It's too early to make any concrete suggestions on powertrains

As per the title. I'm saying nothing other than, let the critique begin......

Going to be a tough designing a replacement for the LC, particularly when you consider that so much of it’s selling points are tied into styling and aesthetic.  I’ll be amazed if it’s received as well as the original….

As for a hybrid, wonder how well they sell internationally?  Can’t do a car at that price point without having a fast, powerful engine.

One of the reasons I got my RCF was to own another F car whilst the V8 still exists, not sure a V6 will be received quite the same.

The Supra in the article sounds mental though!!!! Bet it costs a fortune….

Looks like the new AMG GT SL-with-glued-on-hatchback vs the old GT when you compare it with the existing LC. Not impressed - no V8, much more generic looks, and someone needs to take those stick on L E X U S letters on the boot lid and throw them over the nearest hedge. Progress it isn’t.

More of a Supra/GR86 design to it I think?

This is just speculative render, doubt it would look like this.

As for my personal opinion - it is kind of generic and ugly, sort of oversized GT86... but again that is just a render done by somebody, so it kind of has to be generic.

Having driven both Hybrid and V8 LCs I would say that the V8 feels so much better to drive. The Hybrid might be quite fast but is super bland with no fast car noise or sensation.

Very much this.

A crazy 3 litre twin turbo like the Guilia QF would be acceptable though, maybe with mild hybrid to sneak past the regulators.

That particular engine seems quite special, being Italian and Ferrari derived.  Not sure I would feel quite the same about a German 3 litre twin turbo, whether it’s straight/V6. Even the newer Nissan ones don’t get me going.

I’m a little snobby/picky about engines and so struggle with BMW turbo straight 6 engines.  They are undeniably brilliant but so common that it puts me even off the new supra.

For me, my perfect engine choices are as below

 In-line 4- B16/B18 Honda

5 cylinder - Audi RS3/TTRS

Straight 6 - Toyota 2JZ or Nissan RB26DETT

V6 - Alfa Busso

V8 - Ferrari/Maserati

V10 - Porsche Carrera GT or Lexus LFA

V12 - Any Aston Martin/Ferrari

The engine and noise in particular is probably the single most important part of a car purchase to me so something I feel quite strongly about.

Noise - completely agree. It's the soul of the car. I've had 2 x TVR Griffith, Maserati V8, supercharged AMG CLS55 V8, current LC V8, 1989 Merc SL V8, and a few straight/V6s but the sixes just aren't the same. I'd maybe like to try a V10 Audi at some point but the LC is all the engine I'll ever need I reckon. And there's always supercharger conversions... I think this clip deserves another BEHOLD!

Nothing German for me, except maybe a E46 CSL

The flat 4s and 6s from Subaru also have much appeal with the right exhaust set up
