Lexus Hybrid Battery guarantee

i can't find this question anywhere so ..................

My RX450h is due a full service ( spark plug change) and the nearest Lexus dealer is over 30 miles away. My local Toyota dealer can do the service but they can't offer the hybrid Battery check/ guarantee  Doe anyone have an opinion on whether it's worth it?

Absolutely worth it.

As long as the Battery passes the health check each year, it's covered by warranty for up to 15 years old.

The Hybrid Health Check is free as part of a service or you can have just the HHC as a stand-alone for about £60.

Certainly worth it if you needed the hybrid Battery replaced.

Does seem strange though as I would have thought the same technology is used in Toyota Prius etc.

Just had a look an the Toyota HHC is £39 standalone

They have the technology but no point in having a health check if you cannot get the main benefit of the extended warranty which is underwritten by Lexus.

The HHC has an automated workflow, the engineer needs to enter in the vehicle's details to even start the test - the software won't allow a Lexus vehicle to be registered by a dealer than isn't an authorised Lexus dealer.

I had my RX400h dealer serviced a couple of days before its 15th anniversary of first registration and they still gave the Battery another full year warranty so effectively up to 16 years. 😊

Although I haven’t heard of any failures of the hybrid batteries on the cars that are less than 7-8 years old, it’s definitely worth to have. Will also keep the car’s value high
