Apple CarPlay and Heads Up Display (HUD) connectivity

Am waiting to receive my UX and am wondering if I use Waze via apple CarPlay, will it display the turn by turn navigation on the Heads Up Display?

i wouldn’t have thought so . My wife has a Yaris with HUD and it doesn’t do it with that but does with the installed sat nav.

I don’t think so  because turn by turn is the Lexus navigation system 

waze is used through apple car play 

Waze certainly doesn’t work in my  ES head up display

I thought as much. I did see another thread on this forum for a 2019 UX that suggested there may be a setting within the Lexus settings to choose navigation, but there was still some ambiguity in the post as to whether it did work or not.

I own the premium line with HUD and I can confirm that it shows only the dedicated Lexus navigation system, BUT there is a feature at the Multi-Information Display were you are able to have "turn by turn navigation" of your mobile's navigation system (carplay or android auto) by selecting "Navigation system-linked display (if equipped)" see below link of online manual:

There is a suggestion on Melissa’s tutorial that it will with the new system so I’m hopeful it will too.

Where can I find Melissa's tutorial?

I'll be happy to report back myself (with a video of it in operation), but you'll have to wait until Nov/Dec when my car actually arrives! 😄.

Haha, it’s a long one and it’s towards the end in the multimedia section.   I was waiting until December for a Takumi E4 but there’s a cancelled order on the ship which is grey with white ash interior (I originally chose blue with cream).  It’s currently queued at the south end of the Suez and is due in late September.  Here’s the vid;

I’d better scrub MB off the windscreen 😉.   I’m sure yours is fine.  Have you ordered an E4 as well?   Mine is Sonic Grey yes and I’m really looking forward to it now.
