Can anyone advise me as to whether these function effectively on the ES? I want some physical security and these seem to be very practical but I worry a) with the seat and steering wheel moving apart on ignition turn off whether the cable is long enough and b) what effect plugging the strop into the seatbelt socket has - will it turn on the car’s systems? Any advice appreciated!

Are there any images of this device Dave, can't say I have heard of it.

I would think the drivers seat would need to detect a body sitting on it for the easy entry/exit scenario to function.

That much so l'm amazed it's classed as an anti theft device.

Indeed, assuming the thief is packing cable cutters, it's a two second job.

I guess the point is that a casual thief will look and move on to an easier target but I agree that cable cutters would make short work of this. Has anyone come across an alternative which is convenient and effective but which doesn’t damage an attractive but vulnerable interior?

I use a Stoplock Pro Elite - don't believe Stoplock's guide; the Stoplock Pro doesn't fit.

I used to have Diskloks - expensive and a bit cumbersome to store and use, but undoubtedly the most secure.

The Milenco bar lock has had very good test results and positive mentions here.  These articles may give you more information.
