Auto hold?

Hello there not to sound like im stupid but i think its obvious but just to double check is there a Auto Hold Feature for the 2013 Lexus RX450h?

I don't want to sound dumb but my previous Mercedes C350e had auto hold and it was sometimes a great feature especially when im stuck in heavy traffic with little to no movement

Hi Roland,

If the Mercedes Auto-hold is what I believe it is - - my car (Series III like yours) has what Lexus refer to as a 'Hill-start' system... and works the same way as the Mercedes

Check in your Owners Manual; (circa page 344)

Whilst there is a hill start assist feature I don’t believe the series III RX (2009-2015) has what Lexus call Brake Hold where once you stop the brakes are continuously applied until you touch the throttle - that was only added to the series IV RX (2016-2022)

The Gen 3 you have doesn't have auto hold like the later Gen 4.

What is has is a Hill start aid as mentioned where you press the brake pedal hard and it holds the brakes for up to 30 seconds giving you time to press the throttle without it rolling back on a steep slope.
