Yearly service and MOT due, car to be picked up by Lexus B,ham on Friday, last one under my current service plan. Hopefully no nasties to bite me this year again, the car's been bullet proof since our ownership so fingers crossed. Lets see what the next service plan offer entails.

Delighted, that once again apart from a couple of wiper blades the 2014 passed the MOT with no advisories and no additional service costs. Just have to login to DVLA and get the free car tax done.

Considering it's an outside car and we've had a cold, wet and windy winter. the 10yr old CT still brushes up ok with a decent wash down. Ready to go for another year now, MOT, Major service, Lexus Roadside, new 3yr fixed price service contract and the 11th year of Relax warranty. all done and yet another year of completely trouble free motoring. This car never ceases to amaze me.

Like Norman my cars 10yrs old now but looks far from it, and mine had it's 10yr service done before it's anniversary to get another yrs warranty, it was chucking down on the way home after the service, so left the car for a couple of weeks before hoovering and wash and wax. That's when I noticed the rear set of mats were missing and being it was late on the Friday then, the valet team had gone home for the weekend and could not check, but no mats were found, to be fair when I noticed and rang Lexus they were picking a CT up so offered the mats out the back of that as a replacement which I accepted, but I never mention about the wash it was given, take a close look at the front of the car, I have cleaned the left side and left the right untouched to show the difference of the smearing. I don't know what the cleaning stuff or coating was used but looked like they hadn't wiped it off, I tried to remove it with polish,  then T-cut none of which touched it so had to use G3 Faracela, I think that's how you spell it and it still took me 20 mins just for the left side.

Possibly a strong "trade" style TFR was used, and either applied dry (a no-no), or left to dwell too long before being rinsed off.

Prior to the under coating, how do you recommend cleaning the underneath and various components / plastic guards?

After weighing up the cost of materials and the effort needed to get under the car. I decided to take mine in and let the pro do it. He put it up on the ramp and brushed all the surface rust off etc before spraying it, they also get behind plastic trim and spray the cavities. The Total charge was £160 so I was happy with that. To keep the plastic arch liners looking fresh I just spray occasionally with this product.

I fitted a new accessory Battery this week. Bought from Lexus Direct (online) @£169 delivered. It arrived 98% charged and no features or saved settings were lost by disconnection of terminals to replace it. On first start up I had to wait a minute for the sat nav screen to start up but when it did all radio stations and phonebook etc were up to date.
