Been in touch with Lexus Cheltenham and setup a 4 year contract including 4 MOT’s at a cost of £60 p/m over 32 months, expensive but at least I will have 4 years warranty and 4 years breakdown cover.

If that's for 4x services (2x full and 2x intermediate) 4x MoTs and 4x years of Lexus Roadside Assistance then sounds a good price - I'm sure that paying indivually for those would total more and you have locked in the cost for the 4 years against any inflation too.

Yes that what I thought that’s why I went ahead with it, seemed expensive when I was paying £34 p/m for the Mercedes that included breakdown cover but not warranty ( I like the idea of having the warranty).

Do make sure though that you get the services done at or just before the 12 months / 10K miles to keep the  warranty intact without a gap - I don't think there is much flexibility if you go over the service interval and a problem covered by warranty then pops up just before or at the next service.

BTW, if you haven't already, have a look at the Lexus Roadside Assistance (LRA) https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/roadside-assistance - it covers you and a nominated partner to drive any car in the UK (and your Lexus for European Travel) - not sure what your MB breakdown covered, but for example in my case (which may or may not apply for you), the LRA covers myself and my wife driving either my Lexus or her Toyota, so no need for her to pay for a separate breakdown cover for the Toyota.

Thanks Warfhouse

same as you, as regards breakdown although it’s only me that drives but also being a passenger in any car is handy, as is European because we holiday in France .

Lexus know their product. I’ve yet to see one broken down on a hard shoulder.

Check you contract, not what the Lexus website states. When my roadside assistance renewal came through earlier in the year the personal cover was no longer included so I let it lapse and went direct to the AA.

What do you mean by personal cover?

Breakdown cover in someone else's vehicle. They specified moved the policy from personal cover to vehicle cover.

Sorry - yes just checked the website and realised this. When mine renewed I emailed the Lexus AA contact as the T&Cs on the website are contradicting in places and have in writing from them what is covered, which reflects the website - i.e. Myself and my wife driving any car.

Is it possible to post a copy of that policy clause here? There is nothing in the T&Cs on the website that state that and as I say I only checked this back in November with them at length and had it confirmed it writing it was as per the website.

I will have a look when I get my policy and post picture of relevant part if no one else does.
