Just sailed through with a welcome 'green' pass for another year, having bought it just last December. 👍

In fact it's had 15 MoTs in its life, all 'green' except three 'oranges' ... two for tyre wear (2010 & 2017) & one for a worn brake disc (2016). 👏

Such a record was a major reason behind me buying it and I intend to keep it 'green' going forward. 🤢

As everyone on here knows, you look after your car and it will look after you. 😊

Happy days, am enjoying the ride. 🥂

That's great news Rowley, and an outstanding MOT record for a 16 year old car.

Mine's similar, with it's only failures being for tyres, which is a huge improvement over my previous Jag, which usually needed something doing, as well as various extras at each service. I think it was called a grand tourer because each time it went in it would cost a grand 🙂

With a service plan and extended warranty, I now feel less anxious when it comes to service and MOT time each year.

My Rx400H is now fifteen and a half years old with a perfect MOT record. Not even one advisory, let alone a fail.

Just had it serviced by my Lexus Independent Specialist who tells me that it is fine for another year and he can see no reason why it won't pass next years MOT

Good on yer Ray, that is amazing, most impressive! 👏

I thought mine might be up there but you can't beat a complete clean sheet 😳 .

How long have you owned it and what's your mileage (if you don't mind me asking)?

I purchased the vehicle in July 2010 and it currently has 116,000 mies on the clock. Nothing ever spent on the car other than "consumables"

Although I was horrified last year to find that the original 12 volt battery---which was fourteen years---old had finally expired !!

Nice work. I'm an 05, so a bit older at18 yrs. Rust is a problem as an ex seaside Lexus - cleaned and hammerited a lot of underside. I fitted new radiator, AFS, 4 x rotors and pads – find it a very tidy ride. Never push it until engine temp to mid range. Tried to get tow home cover while driving in europe (RAC/AA etc) but  car now over 15 years so unrecoverable....apparently.

Have you tried the Lexus Roadside Assistance? Daughter's boyfriend took it out on his '90s LS400 for the trip to France they've just started, doesn't appear to have an age limit although I imagine market value will come into play for a recovery back home.

They don't seem too bad for the MOT, I usually get advisories, then have them fixed in the year before the next one. (It is 17) - I am concerened about how long the Battery pack will last, and how much it will be to repair when it goes. At 17 and 140k, it can't last a huge amount longer ? Like you, I live by the seaside, and although on top, it looks fine, underneath was going pretty rusty. Plenty of waxyoil, and hammerite seems to be keeping it at bay. It is reliable  - apart from the crap 12v battery  that discharges if you leave it move than a couple of weeks. Watch the water leaks in the boot, you often don't know until it's too late.

Thanks Spotted Laurel – I'll check the Lexus Roadside assistance – The AA said we'll tow you as far as the value of your car – £1,500  😞 (possible cost £4,500)

Just has a 1000Kms smooth French motorways ride. Rock solid. Long trip prep always clean hybrid Battery air inlet filters, new oil and filters, double check rubber hose connections/clamps. And cruise at 120Kms – I find cruise control returns the best MPG (need it in France where fuel is more expensive)

Car Care Nut on YouTube says Lexus prone to underside rusting. In my case it as true – pretty horrible (ex Northern Ireland coastal parking). Got under with wire brush fearful I'd brush the thing out of existence. Yes, used to have a problem with the Battery as you say. I regularly trickle charge mine. Ha yes I LS-Xed all my seams and joints – because I did get the PA066 warning and discovered my hybrid Battery was taking swimming lessons.

Underside rusting killed my RX300.

So sad, as the engine etc., were all perfectly fine.

If I had my time again, I would have checked underneath and undersealed it...
