Hi

Firstly, a quick question, I noticed this morning that a front light was not working but unsure what it's exactly called. Could you guys please see picture attached, i know the headlights but below them, the passenger light does not work. Is this a easy fix or any idea what problem is or is it just a fuse?? Someone drove into my car overnight and drove off, that also on the passenger side so unsure if related to that. The headlight is cracked so that needs replacing.

I have a Lexus is300h Model, f sport version and I have noticed that parts are very difficult to get hold off, more than likely have to go to a dealership which is quite expensive. Do you guys know of any Lexus scrapyards? and finally, any specialist garages you guys would advise around London for Lexus cars??

Thanks in advance guys.

Unfortunately it’s not a fuse. Unless the wiring has been damaged/disconnected then the light unit has failed and needs replacing. Several people have had these fail, and they are not cheap to purchase.

Check on eBay for headlights, many of the breakers list items there. Just make sure you get the correct headlight as there are differences depending on the grade and year of IS300h.

Thank you for your reply ColinBarber.

I had taken it to a garage recently to do a spray job and put a new wing on, do you reckon it could be a case he has tampered with the wiring?

https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-is-phase-3-n-s-headlight/ - Do you mean a headlight like this one? My main head light comes on but is cracked so need to replace it anyway. would it fix the small light problem and turn on as well?.

Also wouldn't the main headlight go off on passenger side as well as the small light?  Thanks again for response, appreciate the help and advice

Not necessarily. The small light also called a daytime running light or DRL has its own connection. Its typically an LED panel of lights and its not very common for them to fail. So I would first double check if your body shop has missed connecting it back or if its a loose connection. In any case if it has failed its super expensive to replace im afraid. Even a used one is £420 on eBay. But you can get non original ones cheaper if you're ok with that

Oh damn, so buying a new headlight (https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-is-phase-3-n-s-headlight/?utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks) I need this anyway, it will not resolve the issue with the small light?

I think I will take it to my garage where I got some works done, get him to see if its a any loose wiring, if not then i will see.

Also, "But you can get non original ones cheaper if you're ok with that" Yes, I will be more than fine with that, could you point me in the direction to get non originals please, recently bought this car so struggling to find a website/scrapyard for it? Thank you

With those two expensive items needing a fix, and someone having driven into you, it sounds like an insurance claim would be worthwhile.

Just doing further research, I think I need this > https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-is-phase-3-n-s-clearance-lamp/ < that price is crazy considering i still need to purchase headlight and bracket, so would appreciate someone directing me to a non original cheaper place.

The non original one is in the eBay link in my previous reply. Looks like it ships from Lithuania. Also you can try to get a used main headlamp as well on eBay. Alternatively look on sites like aliexpress they ship from china though. Its pointless spending over 1k on fixing headlights on an old car unless you plan to keep it for the next 10 years or more.

Postage for the eBay one you sent is £800 - because like you said its from outside UK. But will keep looking online for a non original part. Thank you

Ooh sorry about that. Didn't realise it was that expensive to ship. Here is a another one from the US. Part no is the same so it should fit. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275891129864?hash=item403c648e08:g:LnoAAOSw0Y9kgG8k&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8PE1IRiuIDkJoYA12AVruSMAEuXQ4kjtJL2AVPv%2FghC8v7l%2FOqYoXnm7KJ%2BFoT3tJ8RsSEsg9AxXHfz%2FNlwZpY%2Fv%2FQdLrHhN0giHAGYjqb4OAbXV%2FDhjIQPlXtqFKHcYhswwRVgtpXwicmQPdDVbCylaGck6QQYbe9BBIY15ScmecvSYr0Gg%2FNNiGyawjeAcB%2BhFveIHF3FzF2gfEhgylIwFlY8FyBG2LWAWeGcr8OlLpW3q%2Bsys1qEPLb775NzU2QXQuPudId6ncwbW%2Fd8RJMFJT4g5cKz852qtFnfgRYadp1yy7e1wlKNIrb8RwlO5ng%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_aZ0YiiYg

Also i think on aliexpress you can order just the headlamp lens i remember seeing it for a previous car i had. If its just your lens thats cracked but the headlight is working then this may be a cheaper solution if you're good with a bit of DIY.
