Driving home the other night, the exhaust pipe completely sheared off at the weld with the offside rear silencer!

It did make me jump a bit when the box dropped down and started dragging along the road 🙂

Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a decent specialist who can make up just the rear silencer and weld it onto the existing pipework - ideally in the South East/home counties corner?

cheers

Phil

Brighton. Grove garage.

Exactly the same with mine. They did a good job with a stainless system. Proprietor owned a Gs450h as well!

Get them both done or other will fail in same way.

thanks for the replies guys.

Looks like Grove is the better option for me based in Sussex.

Steve (Mossy) - do you mind me asking what they charged?

cheers, Phil

£600. Stainless power flow was much cheaper than steel Lexus one.

Grove asked me how loud I wanted it. I got as quiet as possible. Presumably there is baffle insert choice.

Also a shout out to SRD tuning in Ansty if you want any mechanical work done. Owner there ran a LS600h. They changed my radiator for half the price of main dealer.

Hi

I'm about to replace my LS600HL rear back boxes with stainless steel ones. I also mentioned that I wanted it as quiet as possible. He recommended a tri flow system allowing the gases to travel through three chambers before emission. Can I ask if you were happy with your job?

I'm also being charged £600 for both rear back boxes. He told me that the actual silencers would be smaller as they have ones as big as the OEM's. Will this affect the sound or performance of the car?

By way of an update, I went to Grove Garage (powerflow) and I'm very happy with the work.

I had both the rear silencers done in S/S

I didn't want a lot of noise and what i've got is just slighly louder than the OEM.  Took the old tips off, cleaned them up and put them back on.

So like Mossy I'd recommend anyone in the Sussex area to give Leigh a call and chat to him.

As has been said, he drives a GS450h so he knows what he is talking about!
