Hi is there a link for replacing brake wear sensors on LS430.

Not seen one but basically remove the retaining clip (orange box)  then slide out the sensor.

They are very expensive from Lexus but plenty of 3rd party options available on the usual sites.

Hi Steve 2006 changed my brake sensors today. No clips on brake pads but bit that slides in is a tight fit. Brake warning lights have now disappeared from dash 🙂.  Brake pedal feel is now more how I would expect it to be. No sinking pedal. Have a sticky foot  handbrake pedal. Probably needs oiling/greasing somewhere. Can get pedal up by putting foot under it while pulling handbrake release.

Usual culprits are the rear cables (one to each axle) which tend to seize however there are various mechanisms like the quadrant and its return spring that can also seize.

If you detach the single cable from the pedal (R clip and pin as circled) see if the pedal then returns fully up by just pulling the release lever.

If all is now good here check the quadrant for free movement, the return spring is present then move onto the cables to the rear drums.

If it is seized cables replacement is the best option as lubrication may only provide a temporary fix if any.

I would normally attach pictures but the internet speed here in Rhodes is soooo slow.

I agree with all of Steve's suggestions. I ended up replacing both cables on my LS400. My friend, the first owner, never used the parking brake, along with a lot of other drivers of automatic cars, I suspect. Use it or lose it, it saves hassle come MoT time.

Thanks for info. Might not be able to look at it before my trip to lexus Edinburgh. See how much time I've got tomorrow.
