I owned a Jaguar XJ for the last 6 years and love every minute of ownership.  Apart from the usual 'wear & tear' items it was Uber reliable.  The reason for changing was the aluminium body was starting to suffer from filiform corrosion and was looking a bit tatty.

What to buy?  I ended up with a sensible Ford Mondeo manual 2.0 petrol Titanium X which had all the toys.  I've given it 6 months but I just can't love it.  It's uncomortable to sit in, the clutch is bloody awful especially when you've got a bunnion on her left foot. So the search was on....

I refused to pay the near £700 per year car tax for a post 2006 car so this limited my choices somewhat. I went throught the search options on Auto trader looking at all manufaturers that met my criteria and came across Lexus.  Now I knew they had good reputation so I started looking at the GS450h.  I looked at quite a few and it was clear there was some real droos out there but  I struck lucky.  There was one round the corner from me which was different.

I took the dog for a walk to see if I could get a sneaky peak at it.  Arrived at the location and the seller was sat outside hs house next door to the car so a general conversation was had, lots of questions asked and answered and a good rapport established.  The upshot is, after a test drive and further chat where he mentioned he was a member (not just any member but a Gold Member) I purchased said car. Haven't had the chance to drive it in anger yet as I'm now on holiday but what little I have done convinces me I made the right decision.
