Second Key FOB avalaibility

Since October 22nd, 2022, All NX are delivered with only one key fob (and eventually with the credit card key). The second key FOB will be delivered later by the dealership.

Timeframe of this delivery was pretty sketchy.

Interesting video and obvious conclusion, but with over a thousand chips per car one chip for a key fob seems a bit odd to not include it. Thank you for the info.

I wonder if all NX manufactured from March 23, I.e. 2024 model year, will come with two keyfobs as they now use UWB technology, so might be a different keyfob design with readily available ICs inside.

Mine has 2 key fobs February 2022.

Not sure if this practice is down to the “chip shortage” or cost cutting but a brand new car handed over with one fob is ridiculous in my opinion, you could drive it to the nearest petrol station and lose it immediately stranding you there plus the expense involved.

My car came with 2 master fobs, 1 “valet” fob and the emergency key.

Well,  it will certainly cost Lexus way more to deliver the second key fob on an owner by owner base all over the world rather than directly deliver the cars with 2 FOBs. It is really a stop gap mesure to deliver complete cars to long awaiting customers.
 

With top trims (Executive and F sport) you also get the wallet card (credit card format FOB)

Yes Stuart, the 1 key FOB delivery policy started with the cars builded in October 22.
The shipping of the second key FOB is organized by waves beginning in June 23 and probably ending by december 23 (but this is an educated guess)

No Fob for 8 months. No communications from neither dealer nor Lexus. Last one for us.
