Hi all! 

Bit about myself. 48yr old male from Milton Keynes. Owned loads of hot hatches since the early 90s. An ex girlfriend had an IS200 in 2008, brilliant car, this gave me the idea of getting a Lexus! 

I bought an IS250 a few weeks ago. 92,000 miles with full Lexus service history. I have suffered from terrible anxiety and agoraphobia over the past 11 months, so as yet not been able to drive it. But I can do little jobs to my car and it helps me get out of my house. Hopefully I'll be able to drive it soon as having therapy for the anxiety 🙂

Hi Paul and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is and especially to owning the superb is250. You made a great choice. This car because of the way it drives and that sound from its V6 will help you overcome your anxiety and agoraphobia. Every time I drive mine I feel great. I love driving it. Any excuse to get in it and drive it I'm off.

So what made you go for the is250? Which spec is it? 

The only achilies ankle of the car is the sticking rear brake calipers. It's the sliders that seize up due to lack of cleaning and greasing. 

Have a good read in the gen 2 is section of this forum. Every possible thing you want to know about your car you'll find it there. 

We're a good bunch of folk here. Don't be shy. Oh we kind of expect photos of the cars the new forum members have.

Welcome Paul.  Did you get the Lexus from MK?

Hopefully, you may find that it will actually help you overcome your agoraphobia.  When I got mine, I found I was inventing shopping trips simply to experience the pleasure of driving it around.  And I’ve been driving for sixty years!

As has been said, there’s really nothing about Lexus cars that can’t be answered here.  Although it does help to have a Manual to consult first.  😊

I bought it from a small town in Surrey, can't remember the name. I arranged for it to be delivered due to the severity of the agoraphobia. It was great seeing it arrive. It's in excellent condition with full Lexus service history. The only thing that needs doing is a new dashboard as it has a crack in it due to the previous owner driving to Southern Italy and staying there over the summer months for the past 7 years. Usually known for going rather sticky, in the sun. Mine is a bit sticky but has developed a crack. I've seen a second hand one on eBay for £210 including delivery. That should keep me busy!
