My left hand hinge has broken and I'm not sure if it's replaceable or I will need a complete box or lid. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Yes I saw that as well but was hoping I might just be able to get a hinge, plus the colour may be different. Whether the door part can be interchanged I'm not sure

It would appear that the hinges are not available as a separate part only as a complete glovebox door.

At a list price of over £300.00 new I would be looking at a used one, from the exploded diagram it would appear the hinge can be removed and swopped over for your broken one.

I noticed that the LS430 glovebox has limited travel so doesn’t open as much as my old LS400 making it slightly awkward.

Hi Steve. I think what I'll have to do is remove my glovebox and hopefully it will be easier to see. If it works out like you say then I'll order the one from Paul at lexus spares direct and take it from there. Thanks for the info.

Actually I've just read the information on it and it is the older one which has a top and bottom glovebox. As mine is a "54" it only has one box so will need to find the right one.

Ack!! Sorry about that.  I didn't know that they were different 01-03 vs 04-06.

I did find some steel "repair" brackets that may work if the plastic hinge is what has broken.
They are shaped bits of steel that screw into the plastic and hold the hinge together again.

If the break is anything like this LHD glovebox then the steel brackets (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162254113182) along with the appropriate plastic glue may do the job.

Otherwise you will need the inner glovebox door at a minimum, and possibly the whole door.

Thanks for that information. I think I need to pull it all out and see exactly how it's broken. Then I may have a better idea of how to possibly make a repair.

Well I finally sourced another complete glovebox from Facebook marketplace for £60 delivered and it arrived today so I'll be fitting that when I get the car back from paint.
