Drivers side inner wall was eaten .went with a new back set of tyres . I'm just wondering is this a tracking issue ? Passenger side was fine

I think on the rear only the toe is adjustable so too much toe out could be a reason. Unless your suspension components are bent out of shape from an impact. I would recommend getting a 4 wheel alignment done when getting new tyres it can prolong the life of the tyres and also reveal if anything is amiss.

4 wheel alignment done and 2 new rear tyres . Seemingly the side with the badly worn rear tyre was way off track .

Should be all OK now . How can a wheel be thrown off track that much I'm wondering. Surely pot holes don't do that much mis alignment of suspension??

It doesn't need to be "that much" out of alignment to cause such wear and indeed potholes can easily knock out the wheels out of alignment. To be fair potholes are most likely the only thing that usually knocks the wheels out of alignment. If you hit very big one then a single pot hole could be enough, but running over 1000 small ones will have same effect over the time. As well remember that most of RWD "sporty" cars wear inside edges anyway and IS300h is no exception, knocking wheel out of alignment just speeds-up the process. 

Generally speaking, every time I replace the tyres I do 4-wheel alignment and I do recommend it for everyone. When you fit new tyres it is best time to do it, because you have "known good" tyres with even wear etc. so you get best alignment. Likewise economically it is the best time to do it, because it makes sense to protect your new tyres and to get most miles possible out of them. Doing alignment on used tyres is kind of pointless, first of all simply because of cost and secondly, if they already have uneven wear then aliment is quite unlikely to fix it.

I read a few articles the pre-facelift suffers with inner tyre wear never thought of it as a show stopper unless its shreading new tyres in less than 10k.

Interesting to see what high mileage owners have experienced from a set of new tyres?

(Pre-face lift) I believe had a revision to the suspension which may have improved/reduced the wear rate.

To me it looks like bad alignment plus too low air pressure.

When I cross over to France and I find that, despite being a similar country with similar challenges, their roads are all fine and hardly any potholes, my blood boils.

I drove lots around Spain and most roads are faultless.

The UK somehow chose to have chronically ailing infrastructure. I'm not sure why. Perhaps because doing otherwise is considered by some to be a form of dangerous, child-eating evil socialism or something.

Every time I see the Royals in their yachts, their private planes/helicopters, their manor houses, palaces, castles and servants..... I think of our roads. Call me crazy.

Excessive air pressure typically wears the center of the tyre too much.

It's low pressure that does the sides in... but not one side alone.

Looks like a suspension set-up thing. Be it as a result of a pothole or excessive toe/camber.... or both

Step 1 - neglect the roads, Step 2 - tax until it hurts so that nobody could drive, Step 3 - make it impossible to dive anywhere because of ridiculous fines and traffic, Step 4 - force everyone to cycle or use public transport...

I am not saying that conservatism or liberalism is better, because in UK we seem to have either left leaning populism, or right leaning populism... there aren't any real values or democratic checks an balances... just populist trying to get into goverment to enrich themselves and their friends.

Absolutely; was sleeping and writing the opposite. Toe out and low pressure. Have corrected it. Thank you.

Of course, yes. You are supposed to love the royals. Like we all do. Not so much in Spain, since the former had some rather serious mistakes that were published. Maybe not so much anywhere as who needs to have several castles and so many waiters and other personnel that they are hard to hold count of?

And then, look at the US where they have no royals (except the people with money) and they have a trumpet trying to be king and no matter how much the trumpet is out of tune, half of the people there still think he is in-tune.

Over 130k miles the rears do 20k miles and the fronts 40k miles as regular as clockwork

Well the gov'ts strategy is working on me. For the first time I am SORNing the IsF this coming winter. With road tax at £695 and insurance going up and up, I am admitting defeat. We also avoid hire cars and motoring holidays due to all the tricks and traps on UK and foreign roads. At least I have the satisfaction of not feeding money to the robbing bar stewards.

I get the feeling that we are all being driven to poverty and subservience by this gov'ts recent policies. Everything is getting much more expensive and even the modest pension increase is eroded by tax thus making the alleged 10% equate to 8% when private pensions are taken into account. Oh well, at least the sun is shining today😎
