2017 IS300h Alloy wheels touch up paint

Morning Gents

I'm wondering if you could help me😄 I own 2017 premier is300h. My wheels are generally great condition but I have small places where paint starting coming off. Where I can buy touch up paint or anyone now what's colour code/name of this wheels?

There is no touch up paint or colour code for the wheels

Some places can match it reasonably well but youd need a full refurbishment on all four for them to be all the same

Think most alloys start looking that they need refurbing at 5 years old.

Key is, once they are done, wash the car yourself from that point on and don't use any brake dust remover sprays (used by a lot of the quick car wash boys) as they can be corrosive in nature, that causes flaking etc.

You can also buy spray that protects them from general road grime/ salt.

Not sure how good that stuff is or just a gimmick.

+1 Avoid using high pressure washer to mitigate the paint flaking.

There are plenty of wheel cleaners that don't damage alloy wheels

Not sure if all Is300h (silver) alloys are the same shade, but for Advance style alloys (example below) I have actually found Silver Hammerite is a pretty good match. Note this is just for tiny kerb rash or small stone chips/grazes. The good thing about Hammerite is it is thick, so if you have an indent, it levels it out to some extent. 

For larger kerb rash where I have had to sand flat raised damage and use a bit of filler, I use primer then Simmonz Wheel Silver and then Laquer. But... this is not as good a colour match (the silver is a slightly brighter shade) and you have to do multiple very thin coats as it runs very easily.

Neither solution is anywhere near as good as a professional refurb but enough to keep wheels looking respectable (from a distance at least 😉). My main reason to patch bare alloy near the very edge of the rims, is once oxidisation sets in and the alloy "bubbles" you are forever slowly losing tyre pressure, a lesson learned from my previous car.

Examples of Hammerite small/quick fix and a Simmonz spray job (the one with the tyre showing overspray - whoops!). If you zoom in you will see the slight difference in shade. Apologies didn't take before shots at the time to show the difference between damage and repair.

Thank you for all your comments 👍. My wheels don't have kerb damages so is way to early for full refurbishment. I just want touch up this places to "bond" paint and protect from more peeling paint. 

My wheels are more chrome/metallic rather regular silver. Is a shame that toyota/lexus don't have small paint bottles... I've seen many Toyota on the roads with similar colour wheels.

I don't know how effective this stuff is,  but it may do the job for  the small areas you have in mind.

Try this Spray paint from Halfords.

Remove alloy wheel from the car.

Key is prep that goes into it mask around the tyre rubber sidewall, sand down alloys, clean up the dust, primer & spray paint, for best results use a quality Lacquer for the gloss shine.

Ideally on a hot summers day unless you have the Luxury of a garage weather doesnt really matter.

Quick update. Paint from link above is pure silver. Not match well with lexus alloy wheels. We need more titanium/metallic paint I guess.

If this bugs you enough or when you come to sell, certain smart repairers can colour match. Should be cheaper than a full refurb.

For now I'll leave as is. Doesn't look brilliant but I hope that protect from more peeling paint 👍

Get some black paint and mix some in with the silver until it matches.
